Spreading the Plastic Free July message

Lots of people turned up to share the buzz and get some inspiration & support for Plastic Free July. The weather was sunny & bright, perfect for the stall outside at Midland Farmer’s Market and for the speakers and activities inside the beautifully refurbished historical Old Midland Courthouse. It was a great collaborative effort organised by EMRC, Swan Shire, HSG, Wasteless Pantry & MiT. Huge THANK YOU to all the super speakers & demo helpers who contributed to the morning.

Plastic Paradise – June movie

The perfect movie to motivate us for Plastic Free July (and onwards). It takes us on a journey to one of the most remote places on Earth, Midway Atoll, to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Along the way, scientists, celebrities, legislators, and activists shed light on what our society’s vast consumption of disposable plastic is doing to our oceans, and what it may be doing to our health.
