Digging in for Tree Day

SCHOOLS’ TREE DAY at Mundaring Primary School, last Friday 29 July. Students from Kindy to Year 6 commemorated Schools’ Tree Day by planting activities with their buddy classes in the Early Childhood Centre. The day was extra special because it was the first event in which members from Mundaring in Transition (MiT) assisted. Many thanks to Barbara Shepherd and Ken Graham, the volunteers from MiT.

Recycling (for the birds) – a valuable resource gets a second lease of life

These large aviaries were being donated to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Sanctuary by the McFarlane Family. MiT was asked to help out and David, Ken & Jarrah stepped up to assist with the dismantling. With the wet & wild weather that unfolded, it was a pretty soggy experience but after a few hours it was DONE. Flat packed!! Just hope the cockies appreciate their new homes. Well done boys!
